The CEnT-S test is the new admission test for Bachelor’s degree courses offered in English by Italian Public Universities in the fields of Engineering, Economics and STEM related courses.
Developed by Consorzio Interuniversitario Sistemi Integrati per l’Accesso (CISIA), CEnT-S test asseses students’ aptitude in mathematics, reasoning on texts and data, biology, chemistry and physics, providing universities with a standardized measure of applicants’ academic readiness.

What topics are included in the CEnT-S tests?
CEnT-S test consists of 55 questions structures into 5 main areas:
– Mathematics: 15 questions in 30 minutes
– Reasoning on texts and data: 15 questions in 30 minutes
– Biology: 10 questions in 20 minutes
– Chemistry: 10 questions in 20 minutes
– Physics: 5 questions in 10 minutes
The exam typically consists of multiple-choice questions to be answered within a specific time frame.
How are the CEnT-S tests evaluated?
The TOLC tests assessment criteria are as follows:
– 1 points for each correct answer
– a penality of 0,25 points for each incorrect answer
– 0 points for each answer not given
The final test score will be available on the CISIA student account only a the end of each macro period.
When can I take a CEnT-S test?

How can I register for a CEnT-S test?
You can only register online through CISIA website.
Before you register, make sure to consult the call of admission (bando di ammissione) for the undergraduate program of your preference (accessible on the chosen university’s website) to check the following:
- The specific TOLC required
- The deadline by which the TOLC examination must be completed
- The accepted examination procedures: CEnT-S @UNI or CEnT-S @CASA
How much does taking a CEnT-S test cost?
Payment options include:
- Credit card
If you choose a credit card, ensure it is enabled for online payments. - Bank bulletin (MAV)
If you choose MAV, you can pay at any bank, authorized tobacconist, or via your bank’s home banking services.

How to prepare for a CEnT-S test?
You can also register on the CISIA website and practice with simulations that have the same structure and duration of the CISIA tests. This is also a great way to evaluate your preparation.
Finally, consider attending a specific preparation course: nothing beats the experience of senior tutors, who can follow you and advise you on the best strategies to pass these selective tests.
