Medicine admission test: IMAT
The IMAT (International Medicine Admission Test) is a highly selective entry exam that usually takes place in Autumn (as a reference, here are the dates of the last three years: September 13th 2022, October 17th 2023 and September 17th 2024). The date of the exam is usually published in late Spring.
The date is the same for all Italian Universities offering this program, and it is possible to register on the Universitaly portal in July.
The results come out after a few weeks, then the scrolling begins: in fact, not everyone that passes the admission test decides to proceed with the enrollment. Many students, for a variety of reasons, prefer to withdraw from their decision, especially Italian students who decided to take the IMAT only as a “plan B” in case they didn’t pass the Italian Medicine exam, but end up getting admitted in an Italian program.
The number of available seats varies between EU and NON-EU students.
| STRUCTURE OF THE IMAT | ||
| SECTIONS | NUMBER OF QUESTIONS (multiple choice) | NUMBER OF MINUTES |
